I said I don't want any e-mail notices, so why am I getting them? Stop it now, they're annoying as hell!

What email notices are you referring to?

Do you mean the thread subscriptions?

You can unsubscribe from all of them in your profile.

I'm getting e-mails too. And the option "Use 'Email Notification' by default?" in my profile is set to "off." Apparently, whenever I reply to a thread, there is a checkbox that says "Subscribe to Thread?" which is checked by default. In order to not receive e-mails one has to uncheck the box everytime a new post is made. Why is this happening, when I specified to not subscribe to threads by default?

The e-mails I receive are represented in the example below:

Hello mttatkns,

Allin1Joe has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - Design.
inochi.nl - in the Site Review and Suggestions forum of WebmasterLingo.com.

This thread is located at:
http://webmasterlingo.com/showthread.php?threadid=107&goto=newpost

There may be other replies also, but you will not receive any more
notifications until you visit the board again.

Yours,
WebmasterLingo.com team

This will need some code modification, it is being worked on.

(The checkbox by the Quick Reply will assume the attribute of the value you set in the profile for the Use " 'Email Notification' by default? " field).

Sorry for any inconveniences caused.

You know, you're right :) I'm so used to subscribing to the threads I reply to that I didn't notice this.

I would definately suggest that this option be defaulted to un-checked.

Yeah mttatkns said exactly what I meant.

Is it better now?

(Please check the setting you have in the Profile and check the checkbox that is by the Quick Reply..)

for all that have trouble with getting emails on followed threads and want to change email notification to "off"

please go to "change options" under "profile" and set

"Use email Notification' by default?" to "NO"

It works for me, it should for you to,

mind you, if you were posting before changing the above option to "NO"

you have to unsubscribe from threads you are currently subscribed to

hope this helped,

and don't forget to post where the real content is as well

The problem was that the setting was already off, but people were still having trouble. I think it's all fixed now. I haven't had any problems.

Airnine The issue has arose after the introduction of the Quick Reply feature (the "Subscribe to Thread" option was checked as default).

You can also block the e-mail address or unsubscribe from your profile. Don't whine about it! :D
