Well the design was intended to be straight forward and simple and hopefully that's what it is.

This is for a small hosting directory that I'm working on with a buddy of mine, around 60 hosts or so.

The upper right corner looks awfully empty...

the design certainly is simple, the color are good. except the page looks too empty.

i think mttatkns is right when he said the upper right corner is empty.

We're actually going to be implementing an advertising system and banners will be displayed there. Then eventually we'll get a better logo up. Do you think that would solve the problems?

From what I first saw when looking at the page, yes.

Not very much to comment.
Frames and a logo.
Nice coding though.

Nice design, but put something in the bottom left hand corner of the white area. Needs to be filled with something, it looks blank.

Any suggestions besides like advertising buttons?

Any suggestions besides like advertising buttons? How about something like a poll or a quiz? Perhaps a poll about the Super Bowl winner, or ummmm... I dunno, something lighthearted and amusing. Takes up space and gives a visitor something to do for a minute or two. Keeps 'em on your site just that much longer.

HTH,

I'd try redoing the logo / header because it's ruining the whole design for me :(

What's wrong with the logo and header, Dream? It's ok. A tad empty on the right, but I don't see any major problems with it. What would you suggest he do?

HTH,

What I'm thinking of doing is putting like a 'statistics' box. Displaying the amount of searches for that day, unique hits, total hosts, etc. But at this point in time that's a bit non-doable due to the fact that we're still rather small but growing pretty quick.

That's an outstanding idea! Place something else there in the meantime if you suspect it might be a while, but I definitely like that idea!

it's a site offering 99% info and 1% looks

I say it's ok for me,

nevertheless, the logo needs improvement, contact me if you happen to need one

as I said, you provide info and you do it well

Not bad, a little monotone on the colors with the blue, but that's never a bad thing. I like how the search function is right there on the main page, as that is the focus.

Thanks, I actually have another designer working on one. But if I do need another one I'll let you know.

I like the design quite a bit, yes a bit empty but the color scheme and code (the source) Is very clean and neat.

Add some more graphics to make it more appealing

Maybe centre the logo in the header to make it seem less empty on the right. And in the content part, where there are checkboxes, that seems too cluttered. Perhaps rearrange things around there to spread things out a bit.

how about if you try to make this web site that you said there is about 60 host web site or so, try to make it BIGER and try to develop a Host Diretory like the big ones that is up there now.
But for the start is a good site...
Congratulation...;)

It's really nice. The design is simple and it loads very fast unlike some other good host review sites I've seen. :)

I find the colors kind of dull and I feel that there isn't much life in the page.

Hi Interactive,

I like your design a lot. My only suggestion right now is to take advantage of the space you have: Your left menu has a lot of white space (literally!) around it, which could be used to contain more information. I suggest aligning your left menu flush to the right.

Cheers,
