I hope that it can be fixed. I think the pictures that were
transmitted from Spirit were awesome.

Agreed. Don't even want to think about how much money went into that project either and if it fails, all down the drain.

I hope it's a simple problem and not something having to do with the actual robot. Then that'll really kill things. Thankfully, Spirit's sister robot will be landing on the other side of Mars tomorrow.. hopefully.

They're thinking that it might be a hardware problem caused by a motor they remotely activated. Hopefully, they're wrong, because if it is hardware, they're kinda screwed. Not like they can simply haul into into the local shop for a quick repair! This is an important mission, and it is critical that it is seen through to the end. I heard one of the engineers say something like, "It's acting like a home PC. It seems to be trying to constantly reboot itself." LOL. M$ insult much?

I hope they're able to fix it, they did spend alot of time and invested alot of money in creating it. Even the smallest of the mistakes can create a big problem.
