    Music Tastes

What sort of music do you listen to? Any favorite bands, artists, lip syncers(*cough*spears*cough*)?

I like rap music. I like a little bit of rock like metallica and others too but I am not too involved with it. However whatever the genre of music is, if I heard it and like it, I'll go get it .

I'm big into classic rock, but i also like alot of metal, anything from 1970 - today is fine by me if it is heavy enough. it all depends on my mood, or what mood i want to be in. If i need to get pumped up (say before i go on a date, or before i start coding a new project) I play alot of metal. if i need to chill out and settle in for the night, i might play some singer/songwriter. no soft rock, no techno, no rap, no hip hop, no R&B, no Jazz, no Pop.

I listen to a lot of different types.

Mainly rap and heavy metal. But I do like country, jazz, classical, R&B (old-school preferably), it just depends on what type of mood I'm in. I really like music, would go insane if I couldn't listen to it for more than a day... and I like just about all types of it.

    Any particular artists, illest?

Just a FEW of the basics (over 14,000 songs in mp3 playlist):

    Clapton
    Sonny Stitt
    Metallica
    Coldplay
    Simon & Garfunnkel (Gods)
    Tim Reynolds
    Pantera
    Sublime
    Nugent
    Rob Zombie
    Tool
    The Doors
    Led Zeppelin
    Pink Floyd
    Phish
    Fugees/Wyclef Jean
    Van Halen
    Nirvana
Alice In Chains (Greatest band EVER, period, end of discussion).
    Audioslave
    Aerosmith
    Beethoven/Bach
    Beetles
    Ozzy
    Billy Joel
    Bon Jovi
    Bruce Springsteen
    Celine Dion
    Disturbed
    Econoline Crush
    Ernie Watts
    Fleetwood Mac
    Huey Lewis
Godsmack (I once played drums with them, PRE-FAME when they were an AIC cover band in northeastern MA). Remember me, Sully?! The Red Barn!!! I want royalties! )
    Linkin Park
    Eminem

There's a TON more. Music is a passion of mine, and I respect any artist who is truly good at what they do (even if i dislike what they do).

    Key notes:

Rap is not real music (for the most part) for one very simple reason. REAL music requires, ummm, INSTRUMENTS.

Country/western IS real music, it's just not any good.

Of course, that's just my opinion.

Are you serious that you played with Godsmack? Holy ****! Godsmack is one of the best bands to ever cross the face of this planet! Sweet. lol

Ditto. I would love to play some instruments too.. but my parents won't pay for it, and I don't have a ton of money.. about $400 a month from my job right now. And that's gotta go to a car... and, well, I can't pay for it. And I've tried the self-teaching ones.. and I never can learn from 'em.

I'm pretty much a metal head. Here's a few of the bands I listen to:

    Slayer
    Metallica
    Black Sabbath
    Cradle of Filth
    Deicide
    Cannibal Corpse
    Slipknot (new album sucks!)
    Dying Fetus

Yes, I'm serious. Back when I was in high school, in the town I lived in there was a little club for teenies. One night, we were all there and Godsmack was playing (like I said, this was WAY before they were famous). Their drummer ended up getting wicked sick. Some buddies of mine and I were outside as the band was telling the owner they couldn't play. We overheard. A friend of mine said I could drum pretty well, so off I went. Back then, I could hold my own (but that's when they sucked. ). Today, I can still drum, but nowhere near as well as a pro!

It's great. I played a mean saxophone as a kid, drums throughout high school, and a very little guitar. Sax, drums, and piano are my favorites. I'd love to learn the piano someday.

I know how to play the piano and it's fun to hear songs on the radio with the piano and go home and play them

Hey for those who want to listen to music Opti told me about it,

    http://www.purevolume.com/

It's great, just lookup artists by their genre and the interface is good. The loading times for songs are very short too and they are still good quality.

A good way to hear some legal legit music
