    Favorite Registrar?

    Who's your favorite register?

For me it's Godaddy. Gotta love their Phone customer support. ENom is a close second. And third is EV1Servers.net because of te price.

I got to say Godaddy is my favourite too and I've used them for quite a while. Good support and service. Pretty much the best till my registrar opens!

Enom. They have the best features that come with the domain when you use their nameservers- 100 subdomains, 100 e-mail's, URL forwarding, and they don't lock you in like GoDaddy (just try to transfer to another registrar). And to top that, the domains cost the same as GoDaddy when you signup as a reseller.

None of them actually, till now I've only registered .be (belgium) domains and even if I would get a .com or .net there are enough decent Belgian registrars arround to go to

I'm curious, why do so many people like GoDaddy? I have used them for several years and haven't been too imprressed... I'd like to know the basis of your opinions.

    mttatkns,
    Well in my opinion, Godaddy:
    - Fairly nice control panel
    - Good pricing
    - I've never had a problem with the support (I hear some have)
    - Solved a domain ownership issue for me

None of them, to be honest...my favourite is Soho Consulting. Nice control panel, they accept my Debit card (many don't!) and transfers are free and VERY easy to do.

Since when has Godaddy locked people in? I've transfered 100+ names to and from Godaddy and currently have around 60 there right now.

I don't know what to tell you but several people I know that had registered their domains there were subsequently unable to transfer to another registrar.

They probably did it during the 'lock period' or whatever right before the domain was about to expire (30 days before I expire I believes is when it starts). This has happended to me but I haven't seen any registrar with a policy that was different than that, in that regard.

I'll probably get beaten or flamed but I registered with NetSol. They're ok. I have no particular beef with them.
